Phew...

Ok folks I think we are finally just down to the wire. There were a few things we had planned that I really wanted baby to stay inside for, but now those things have come and gone and I'm to the point that I'd be totally happy with her making her appearance any time now. (I guess we packed everything in just in time since her due date is now less than two weeks away).
The first of those events was our week long family retreat in Brian Head Utah, about 3 1/2 hours south of here nestled in the mountains north of Cedar City. Jason's parents have been planning this for like a year now and the trip did not disappoint! We really had a great time, the mountain temperature was absolutely ideal and setting was so peaceful. I even got in some hiking! (Yes be proud of me, because the bod strongly reprimanded me afterwards... felt like my pelvis was literally about to split in half). It was so great to be with people we love and have such a great time with. I feel so fortunate I married Jason, not only because of Jason but also because of the most superb family that came along with him. What a blessing! Luckily, although I was having contractions all week, I didn't have to ruin any of those close family relationships by having my brother in law deliver the wee one in the back woods, (he's a resident at Utah Valley)
because let's be honest, I'd never want to see him
again if we went through that together.
A couple shots of our hiking adventures... I wore flip flops because I refused to do anything I couldn't do in flip flops... which is an interesting tactic because how could I really know beforehand, right? No one had any idea what these trails were like before we galantly started up them. It was a little more intense than what I had anticipated, not pregnant it would have been cake but I was pretty stinkin sore and pretty proud of myself when we were done.

We went to a production of Les Mis at Tuacahn one night down in St. George. The show was really excellent, I was totally impressed by it actually. St. George, just my luck, had it's hottest day so far of the year the day we spent there, at 109 degrees. We really had a great time despite, but I will admit I was crying to the hub by the time the night was over because I was so achy and my fingers and ankles were so swollen from being in the heat.

Here is a pic after the show with some of the cast members... I want that green dress! Just my size!

Here is the entire fam dam... what champs we all are in our matching T-shirts

So, against my best judgement, I will include the following. Here we are all getting ready for the big family pics... and again my hatred for candid shots comes back to haunt me. Will you take a gander at me??

Hmmm... let's zoom in on that beaut, just in case you couldn't see me that well in the first one. Go ahead, click on it to enlarge it if you must. Apparently, I am firey hot with anger, and it looks like I'm going into labor right on those cabin steps. Wow, uncomfortable much? You think? Good thing I really know how to keep a poker face...

Last but not least, we got back into town from the cabin Friday evening and Stacy threw me a little girlfriends shower/open house on Saturday. It was so great! Totally chill and stress free... Thank you for all of you who made it, it really meant so much to me. I'm truly overwhelmed by your generosity and thoughtfulness.
Here are some shots of some true soul sisters of mine at the shower... we grew up together in dear old Idaho Falls and can scarcely believe we are really grown ups doing such grown up things... like having babies. Thank you so much Amber, Brandi and Kalli for making the trip down for the event! Being with you was one of my total highlights. And thank you Stacy for putting it all together! We missed you Court and Rem! I love you all so much, we have to all live close to each other soon, please?!?

Ok so my lifelong best girl Brandi's little girl Berlin is to absolutely die for. I have the biggest crush on her. She kept rubbing my belly... both hands, all over the place haha. She was pretty intrigued by it. Thought I'd include this little clip of her crawling... because she refused to let her knees touch the cement. She was on her hands and feet the whole time, so so so cute...

Mer, you are a seriously amazing! You are doing so great when really, now, you should be feeling completely miserable and uninclined to move at all! I hope it happens soon. Labor stinks, but it's exciting too! Good luck.

I can't wait to see Berlin's soul sister Stella Brandi Erickson Christensen... they will be the best of friends. Berlinny Mae also can't stop talking about you and how much she loves your belly:) I also really miss seeing you do the belly dance that Jason makes you do in front of the mirror that he LOVES! Also by the way will you ask Jason what the name is...seriously what is it:)

Meradith you look absolutely INCREDIBLE! I can't believe you are actually HIKING when you are 9 MONTHS PREGNANT! I think I speak for all of us when I say that you are making pregnant women across the country look really bad. When I'm pregnant I want Josh to do everything for me and I never want to have to move--so I won't be encouraging him to read your blog.

Mer - You know that by posting that pic I will be printing it out, framing it, and giving it to you for your b-day, right?? Looks like good times w/ the Christensen crew as usual. Can't wait for the new addition to arrive!

Hey there!! I'm so happy you said hello. I absolutely loved looking at your blog just barely. You're seriously the cutest pregnant lady I have ever seen. What's your secret? Stacy has kept me updated on you. She told me you were pregnant but I didn't realize how long ago it was she told me. You're almost due!! I'll be waiting to see the pictures!

Hi Meradith! Not sure if you remember me or not. You were so young when I knew you in Manassas. I worked for your parents at Tropical Sno when I was 16. Seems like forever ago. My sister Angel and I babysat you and your siblings.
