Just an update:)

This post will be random tidbits. Absolutely no central theme whatsoever so don't look for one. First of all, October is killing me! We are so busy this month I swear. Jason is SO busy at work and it doesn’t look like it will chill out a little until the month is over. Lucia will be 3 months old this week. I can’t believe it. I can’t believe she even exists. I won’t believe it her whole life. There will not ever be another person in the universe like her, nor has there ever been. And we created her! Well, her little body at least. I look at pictures or we talk about memories and stuff from before she was born and it weirds me out so much. I’ll say to Jason, “Lucy was not on the earth when this or that happened…” Bizarre. Then I have to sort of sit silently with a blank stare and space out for a while. Too deep for words this parenting business.

She had her first airplane trip this week, to lovely San Fransisco. We went out to see Nessa, Sam and Leah and she was an absolute angel the entire flight, there and back.

It was great to be out there. It was quite a spectacle though when Ness and I ventured out for the day with the babes… 40 minutes trying to situate everything in the car, 2 strollers, 2 car seats, 2 mamas all stuffed into one little sedan. We ended up stuffing everything in, but the process was a real zoo. Leah is 100% Michelin!! Look at that face! So cute. I can’t even tell you. I keep thinking the babies are so different just because of age but I’m realizing that is not the case. Vanessa let me in on her little secret. She munches about a pound of whale blubber every day to get her milk extra creamy. She’ll be mad at me for sharing that with you, but people gotta know how she does it. Share the wealth sister!

So today I threw Lu in the sling (she loves and adores the sling) and cranked some music and started cleaning up my house. Suddenly a particular beat came on and I could not help myself. (Download “Ojos asi” by Shakira and you will see what I’m saying. There is no sitting still with this jam). Now I’ve been known to cut a little rug. So there we were, all by ourselves… shimmying and grooving all over the place, when a very unfortunate occurrence took place. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror…bumpin and grinding…bouncing that baby all over the place. I immediately had to shut all the blinds and hang blankets over every mirror in the house. I was horrified. Nonetheless, I can’t convince myself that just because I’m a mom I’m automatically kicked out of the club. I’m allowed to still dance! I won’t stop dancing!! Madonna pulls it off, doesn’t she? I took comfort in the fact that it actually looked slightly better than it did when I was pregnant… there was just something very wrong about gyrating my 9 month pregnant belly.

Anyway, all is well. We've been taking lots of random pics so here are a few of the little lass and a photo shoot we had together. I particularly love the one that I am straight faced, because it looks like she is trying to punch my lights out. Oh and PS doesn't the autumn make you swoon?? It's my favorite. Thank you Heavenly Father for such brilliance! Check out the back yard! I'm in heaven.

meva meva! i always talk to you about your posts on the phone but it's more fun to get comments! Come back! Come back to San Francisco! The Palmer clan is feeling much better (don't be bitter, I'm sorry we passed it along) and I'll be up for a much more jubilant fiesta! You're lucky we're all going to az next week so I'll be able to properly pummel little Lu. And all the Kaakoush munchkins! Yes! Yes! I just got a little overwhelmed....

oh my goodness she is so adorable. You look like you are the cutest mom, just reading that post...and you're right, you never can stop thinking about how amazing they are and what a miracle it is that you made them. Even when they're older. She is so cute, and you look so pretty in all those pictures.

Glad your trip to San Francisco was a success. Maybe I should try that whale blubber.

Lucy is adorable as usual, and I love the fall colors. I hope your cruise this weekend was lovely!
